News: WHO designates Regulatory Authorities as WLA
An all-new process is drafted by the WHO that will incorporate regulators to be enlisted as WLA (WHO-Listed Authorities). WHO, in May, discussed the definitions and procedures to implement the framework as WLA. The framework will designate the regulatory authorities, as WLA, under Maturity Level 3 WLA and Maturity Level 4 WLA.
The agenda for including the regulators in WLA is to provide better healthcare facilities that promote the safety and security of vaccines amongst the public. It will also implement a quality health paradigm to reduce the ailment and infirmity among the public. WLA uses a tool called Global Benchmarking Tool or GBT, which analyzes the performance of the Regulators and enlists them as WLA.
