The essential medicines and essential in vitro diagnostics (IVD) tests, receive an updated list by the World Health Organization (WHO). The major agenda behind the updated list is for the countries to keep the health products as their priority concern.

As good as 51 new medications have been added, raising up the new total to 460 medicines as per the Essential Medicine List (EML). Apart from this, the first Essential Diagnostic Lists (EDL) version with 113 tests, released last May, is added up with another set 115 tests, according to the latest updated EDL.
