News: Microsoft pays regular hourly wages to its employees even if they spend less time due to coronavirus
The tech giant, Microsoft, has introduced a policy to the non-employees, who work for other companies but provide services to Microsoft, that they will be given regular hourly wages even if they spend less time at work. This comes a day after the company asked its employees to work from home due to coronavirus spread.
In a blog post, the company’s president and chief legal officer, Brad Smith, wrote, "We recognize the hardship that lost work can mean for hourly employees. As a result, we’ve decided that Microsoft will continue to pay all our vendor hourly service providers their regular pay during this period of reduced service neds. This is independent of whether their full services are needed."
