News: Amazon confirms to end wage increase and double overtime pay in June
Tech Giant Amazon announced earlier this week to extend the hourly wages and double overtime pay for its employees in delivery jobs and warehouses till 30th May. The policy was earlier extended to 16th May. However, the company's spokesperson cleared in a conference that there will be no further extensions to the policy, and it, therefore, becomes ineffective from June.
The spokesperson further added, “We are grateful to associates supporting customers during a time of increased demand, and are returning to our regular pay and overtime wages at the end of the month." Amazon currently pays $15 per hour or more in some areas of the U.S. for warehouse and delivery jobs, with an extra $2 per hour in the U.S.
